This one, visually, didn't quite go as expected, but the flavours were all there.
CRE8ion by Keegan McGregor
I was thinking of some of the most popular vodka cocktails out there to draw inspiration from and thought of the Cosmopolitan.
Ingredients:
- 75g Fresh Nova Scotian Cranberries (I’d use more next time)
- Zest of 1 Orange
- Zest of 1 Lime
Method:
I let it all sit for 24 hours, then diluted to 40%.
Next time I would do this, I honestly wouldn’t use the fresh cranberries. NS cranberries aren’t very ‘juicy’ per say, there a little tougher. I’d honestly opt for frozen, or if you can get better fresh berries than use those.
Still tasted great though! And funny enough, it became more pink when I made a cocktail with it.
The Cocktail:
I decided to do a classic Vodka Sour/a Cosmo without Cranberry juice and a drop of absinthe for this one. It tasted remarkably similar to a classic Cosmopolitan.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2oz Cosmo Vodka
- 1/2oz Triple Sec / Cointreau
- 3/4oz Lime
- 1/2oz Simple Syrup Juice
- 1 Drop of Absinthe
